thank you for this info! I am planning to watch! Im glad to have seen this because I was thinking it was going to be Wed, and I wouldve just died if I had missed it! I am in Independence, Missouri, so if its on at 9 eastern time, does that mean its 8 my time?? I always forget if its 1 or 2 hour difference in time! Animal Planet is on here. I have watched all I can of him. It still is unbelievable to me that this wondeful, amazing man isnt here anymore! He will always be in our hearts though!

This according to the site, is Eastern time. So you're what? Central? I'm not sure if this means it's on at a different time for you or not. I'd check the listings or maybe call your cable company just to make sure.

I'd be so heartbroken if I missed it too. I've burst into tears so many times watching the marathon on AP. I really, really loved this man, and everything he stood for. I wanted desperately to make it to his zoo and meet him one day, but that's not ever going to happen now. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have someone so... Passionate and outgoing in your life and then suddenly, that light is just POOF! - gone. No wonder Terri's having such a rough time.

I just started crying again typing this. Oy with the water works already!

*hugs*

hugs back to you too sweetie! Today has been such a bittersweet day watching Steve all day. I love watching the neat things he has said, and mainly the time he said he would want to be remembered for his passion and enthusiam for wildlife. I am very much an animal person, and I would have loved to have had a life like his. Terri is the perfect partner for him! It is so awesome how they met. They were such a compatible team, and I love also the way they involved their children in their passion and love of animals. He is so very much alive in our hearts, and I just hope his memory will be honored by the ongoing work with conservation and the Australia Zoo. Im sure it will continue. Yes, Im central time, and I will be in front of the tv starting early evening on Tues, because Im just NOT going to miss this! Im also going to have a box of kleenex on hand.
Did you make your icon?? I love it!!! I have saved lots of pictures of him!! You will be in my heart on Tues as we remember this amazing man together.

I love animals too and have a closer connection to them than I do most humans. Animals don't hate because they're taught to. The accept, adapt and love completely.

Terri was very lucky to have found Steve--they're were a perfect compliment to one another. It's rare that two souls meant to be together actually are, but with those two it was magic.

Yes, the icon is mine--feel free to take if you like.

*hugs*

Oh thank you about the icon!! omg, Id be honored to use it!
I learned last week in watching alot of stuff on tv about the Irwins that Terri was already involved in wildlife when she met Steve! How amazing that they met...with her being from Oregon, of all places! Wow! It was meant to be!
I havent done it yet, but I plan to email my heartfelt feelings to them.
You have a special place in my heart just seeing how this whole thing has affected you too. Im like you are with animals too. I worked as a vet assistant for 10 years. I do have a much deeper love and connection with animals too. I wanted to work at our zoo very badly, but I dont have a Kansas City address, which is a requirement, and I live in a suburb of Kansas City! Ugh! And Im still only 15 minutes away from the zoo!
Thanks again!
hugs you!

Enjoy it!

Yes, it's amazing that they ever found each toher. Can't tell me it wasn't destined. ;)

I once thought about being a vet, but my allergies didn't really accept that and I didn't think I couldn't *not* take each hurt or illness personally. I used to adopt every stray cat, dog and every other critter I could find on the farm. Mom just knew I'd end up an old lady with 400 cats. LOL But not so much. So I guess that's why Steve touched me so deeply. He loved unconditionally, every creature. Even birds which made him kinda freaky. You have to admire that total dedication. I miss him so much and I can't even imagine what his family and close friends are missing.

I expect to sit in front of the tv and ball like a baby.

*hugs*

Bindi looks so much like her mom, but Bob is just the spitting image of Steve. Wow. It's so sad that they're both without their dad now. :( Thanks for the info, I'll definitely be watching the memorial.

I heard that if he didn't pull the barb out, he might still be alive... :<

I think that Bindi looks like Steve and Bob looks like Terry... :
araestel From: araestel Date: September 20th, 2006 01:56 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'm not sure about pulling it out or not. Seems it pierced his heart and las a level of poison in it. Might not have made any difference. Either way, it's a huge loss. I was torn up over it and bawled like a baby at the memorial service last night. I really loved Steve and admired him for so many reasons. He's left a void. A huge one.

*hugs*
