I've never heard of Farscape. I've heard of, and even watched, Stargate SG-1. I know the general idea behind it. Is Farscape similiar, or are you only mentioning Stargate because of the actors?

What's Farscape about?

My affair with Stargate is odd. I *like* Atlantis. For the most part. I *hate* SG-1 with a flying passion, but I *do* like Vala (or I did used to like here when she was more fun) and Cameron Mitchell, but that's because they were the main characters on "Farscape". SG-1 is a little too dry for me and I really dislike Amanda Tapping. Now that SG-1 is over, they're shoving her off on us who watch Atlantis, so I am NOT looking forward to the new season because of her. They may lose me on this one.

"Farscape" is one of the best put together shows in sci-fi history. It's fun, irreverent, smart, snarky, intelligent and every other positive word you can think of. Basic premise--a scientist (John Crichton) is set to launch from the space shuttle to do an experiment using the earth's atmosphere to achieve additional speed to aid in space exploration. A wave hits just as he's getting ready to conduct the experiment and he's sucked into a worm hole, a portal to another universe, and spends him time trying to adjust as well as get home. It's a learning experience as well as a time for personal growth and understanding. He learns how to be a leader, think of his feet and even falls in love. "Farscape" isn't just smart and fun, it's a love story and a story of friendship. I highly recommend it.

Wow, that totally went over my head. I only saw it 1, 2 times. when it was reruns on FOX. I think. Didn't it have the guy from MacGyver on it?

That's interesting. I don't know if I could watch that though. I tend to not understand sci-fi. The only show I liked like that, was the very short lived (3, 4 episodes) Century City. It was a sci-fi/legal show mix. I loved it. But, no one else did, apparently. I HATE THAT! lol

LOL Yeah, the MacGuyver guy used to be on it. He was on it for uh... 8 or 9 years and then went to "occasional". He showed up 3 or 4 times a season.

Don't worry--if what I said was over your head, you'd *hate* SG-1. Farscape is smart and fun. There was this one episode where they changed places with each other, like Aeryn suddenly held John's consciousness. It was funny and irreverent. I love the show so much cause it was just so different and not pretentious. They could poke fun at themselves and we'd all love it. It's a special kind of show.

I don't think I even remember the show you mentioned. But my memory isn't what it used to be either. ;)

That's cool.

Century City was so short lived. 4 episodes I think. That killed me. It was about a law firm in the future (like 2400 or something) and all the new, crazy high tech cases they had to deal with. That was where I discovered Ioan Gruffudd. He is gorgeous! lol

Ph yeah.... that kinda rings a bell now. ;) I just went to see him in Fantastic Four. I was a big "Dark Angel" fan as was roommie and we loved (surprisingly) the first film, so we went to the newest and enjoyed it too.

My sister was a big Dark Angel fan. I never liked it much. It was too much for me. Though I liked the guy in the wheelchair, that's now on NCIS.

I'm personally not much for like, comic book character movies. No Spiderman, Superman, or Batman for me. lol

I don't like the comic book stuff either. I'd rather just pass on it. She wanted to see it and she bargained with me to go see something I wanted if I'd go with her to see Fantastic Four. I said ok because I like Jessica and Julian MacMahon. I was actually surprised I liked the film. Shocked, actually. LOL

I loved Dark Angel, season one more than season two, though I did like Joshua. Logan (wheelchair guy) was great and he and Jessica dated for years. After seeing him in DA and then seeing him being such an ass in NCIS, I couldn't watch NCIS. It just seemed so wrong to me. LOL But he *does* look good.

I thought it was so cute that he and Jessica dated. I always think that's pretty cool. Like Jennifer Garner and whats-his-name. It always sucks when they break up though.

LMAO. OMG! He is a complete ass on NCIS. That's what makes him so great. (I can't believe I just said that!) The NCIS character just fits him better I think. And he probably enjoys it more.

That's like Thomas Gibson, from Dharma & Greg. He had a goofy role, then he's Mr. Serious on Criminal Minds. It's hard to see an actor as someone different, once you see them as the same role for so long.

It is hard to see couples we think are so perfect together, break up. I suppose it's because we all wish for their happiness and it just feels wrong when they're not.

Do you like Gibson on Criminal Minds? Mel (roommie) can't stand his character on there. I have to interest in watching it, so I have no opinion on him and I never watched Dharma & Greg so I have no opinion on him at all. Just curious.

Yeah, I agree.

I do. But I'm kinda a Gibson fan. (Loved him on Dharma & Greg, loved him in Category 6, love him on Criminal Minds.) He's a great actor. I just wish they would have him a little less serious on CM. They have him be a bit too tense.

Yeah, she said he's a little too stiff for her. I think she started watching the show because of the media rep. She knew her from "Tru Calling" and liked her.

He is, definitely. Oh yeah, AJ Cook? I like her. I like all of the cast actually. It's one of the shows I'm definitely watching this season. Even though they're getting rid of the main guy. (Over creative differences... psh)

Yeah. 8snort* Mandy is a good actor, but a real head case.

Mel's watching. Not my thing, but I find I'm not going to be watching a lot this fall.

Is he really? I'm going to miss him on the show. I thought he was good. (I'm just glad Gibson is staying.)

Criminal Minds isn't for everyone. It's a very... intense show. And lots of people just don't get into it. I like criminal type shows, so it's my kind of thing. Though it's a bit graphic for me. I think the idea behind it is unique. (One of my co-workers is actually going to school for the criminal psychology thing)
