	Believe it or not...
	My dad is in the hospital. Again. This makes either 7 or 8 times in the past year. Sadly, I've lost count. The doctors always say "pneumonia" but I'm starting to think it's something else and his doctors are just incompetent. I've always hated the hospital he's in, the town is like fucking Mayberry and I could get a better diagnosis from the vet! I told him he might ought to think about going to a real doctor in Lexington where someone just might be able to figure out what the problem is. But that's just me. sigh And Reba's birthday is tomorrow, so roommie and I made her a wooden jewelry box and I made her 3 bracelets to go with it. Too bad she's gotta spend her birthday in the hospital. I've done it and it sucks. BTW, the finals of the Pet Idol are this week and I'll be bugging you guys Friday to vote for my baby. ;) Tags: jewelry Current Mood: frustrated Current Music: The Olympics

So sorry dear to hear your dad is in the hospital and for so many times this year. I agree with you, I always hated the clinic and hospital my mother used. I felt the same way about them and it makes it harder then when you don't have confidence in the doctors. We are at their mercy it seems.

*hugs* I really wish for your benefit, and his own, that he'd listen to you, and think about getting a second opinion... especially from a better doctor.

I saw the finals were up for the Pet Idol, and already voted for Aeryn. I also sent an email to my dad, and another friend. I'll try to round up some more votes for her. *hugs*

Just to play devil's advocate, because we were talking about this at work today...

Pneumonia is one of those things that, particularly when you're older, you tend to get whenever there is something else wrong. Doctors have a tendency to release patients when they're not completely, 100% over the pneumonia, which means that it flares up again. So it is very likely that it actually IS pneumonia.

Now, that doesn't mean that he shouldn't get a second opinion... particularly if he can go somewhere they're likely to keep him longer (though insurance often precludes that).

I hope he starts to feel better soon.

I'm so sorry hon. I hope someone's able to figure out what's going on with your father and give him adequate treatment so he can get better. I also hope your friend Reba will be okay and had some nice moments for her birthday in spite of hospital.
