The Queensland Ambulance Service have confirmed Austraila's ambassador for our wildlife has died suddenly from injuries sustained earlier today from a stingray barb through the chest.
Steve, also kwown around the world as 'Crocodile Hunter' was diving whilst filming a documentary at the time of the accident around 11am AEST off Batt Reef Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.
A Queensland Rescue helicopter crew, including a doctor and paramedic, was flown in to try and revive him but to no avail and was pronounced dead on the scene.
He is survived by his wife Terri and two children Bob and Bindy. Terri was in Tasmania trekking Craddle Mountain at the time of the accident.

I really loved this man and everything he stood for. I'll miss him and his contributions so very much. My heart goes out to his wife and children and good mates.
